Waste reduction is the best way to cut solid waste disposal costs. And one of the most
effective strategies for reducing waste is to sell or donate your scrap or
surplus material and unwanted equipment to an organization that can use it.
NY Wa$teMatch can put you in touch with a wide range of organizations that can use your materials and durable goods, from industrial and commercial businesses to schools and nonprofit organizations. Many of these organizations will pick up your unwanted goods for free, and some will pay you for them.
Listing your materials and equipment with us is free - there is no risk. Simply log in and create a listing specifying what you need. (If you have not yet registered, you will need to do so in order to log in. See Step 1 below.)
The Search page allows you to find requests for specific items. To offer a material to someone who has listed a request, you will need to log in as a registered user.
How does it work?
Step 1: Register.
Go to
Register and fill out the registration form. Registration is free. You
will receive an e-mail confirming the details of your account.
Step 2: Search Listings.
Use our online Search form
to look for wanted materials. You can search by material name, date range,
category, and location. Search results can be sorted by date, type of listing,
category, and description.
Step 3: Add Listings.
Submit a listing using the New Material Listing form. Make sure to
fill out the required fields and to provide detailed information about the
available material. Please read the guidelines for
Open listings and
Closed listings. We will review your new listing before posting it on
the Materials Exchange.
Step 4: Sell or Donate Your Materials.
You can review Wanted listings and offer your materials to other registered users.
Step 5: Submit Transactions.
We encourage you to report your completed transactions online. Reporting transactions allows NY Wa$teMatch to track its results and to keep information on the Materials Exchange current.
